Education & Outreach

Welcome to Stumptown Stages' Education Programs!

Since the beginning, Stumptown has envisioned providing a quality musical education program that brings acting, dance and vocal technique classes to the Portland community. This vision, has now become a reality and thrives under the leadership of our gifted Education Director, Sarah McGregor.

Under the guidance and support of Kirk Mouser, founder and Executive Artistic Director, and alongside board president and Associate Artistic Director Julianne Johnson-Weiss, Stumptown not only produces a variety of beautiful musicals, but also includes an educational component to assure the participants are given a chance to explore the wonderful world of musicals. Through secondary after school programs, talk back sessions and study guides, Stumptown will immerse you in the remarkably intricate world of musical theater. See you at our next show!

ABOUT EDUCATION & OUTREACH

Stumptown Stages' Education & Outreach program is focused on serving Portland's high school youth and showing them their value in Portland’s arts community. This is the cornerstone of our Education & Outreach programs—to create access to the next generation of performers and arts supporters.

This year, Stumptown Stages has the honor of partnering Rosemary Anderson High School to bring our programs to their students. We teach musical theatre classes during a school day elective, a unique opportunity for our professional Music Directors, Choreographers, and Actors to serve as mentors for RAHS students. We are currently seeking donors to assist us in expanding to the new Rosemary Anderson East campus in Gresham.

We are so grateful to our current Education and Outreach Donors-- The Hoover Family Foundation, Harry Chapin Foundation & Harold Goldstein.  Without their generous support, our current programs would not be possible.

Individual sponsorships start at just $26, and provide an underserved Portland metro high school student with access to quality musical theatre education opportunities. We invite you to join us in this exciting new journey as we continue the momentum of our one-of-a kind program at Rosemary Anderson High School.

If you are interested in bringing our classes and workshops to your campus, or donating to help support our current students, please contact us at support@stumptownstages.org.

Thank you for your interest in our programs and your continued patronage of Stumptown Stages!
