GUYS & DOLLS first opened on Broadway November 24, 1950. It would run for 1,200 performances. The musical won five Tony Awards including Best Musical. The film version starring Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, Jean Simmons and Vivian Blaine went on to win a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

 

The musical is from a book by Abe Burrows and Jo Swerling with Music by Frank Loesser. Stumptown Stages production is directed by Dan Murphy (co-founder of Broadway Rose Theatre Company), with choreography by Liberty Dolence. The 8-piece live orchestra is under the skillful guidance of musical director Reece Sauve.

 

This lighthearted, funny story of gangsters, gamblers, showgirls, mission workers and New Yorkers features a local cast that includes: Amiellia Kolosvary, Andrew Hallas, Anton Fero (Sky Masterson), Casey Lebold, Daniel Bahr, Honor Stevenson, Jason Hays (Nathan Detroit), Jay Piper, Kevin McManus, Kylie Rose (Sarah Brown), Lee Fisk, Lori Van Dreal, Masaya Urba (Miss Adelaide), Nathan Petts, RJ Tofte, Sarah Hovermale, Sean Ryan Lamb, Steve Coker (Nicely-Nicely Johnson), Steven Hrubes, Venus Howard, Waverly Schmidt, and Zebadiah Bodine.
